Finding Balance Between Family, Work and the Gym | STRYDE

By Sophie @ STRYDE

Some days balance feels impossible, like you are constantly choosing which version of yourself to disappoint. I have learned that balance is not about doing everything equally, but moving through each day with softness, intention, and enough space to breathe. When we stop chasing perfection, we find a rhythm that feels more like our own life and less like a race.

Letting Go of the “Perfect Day”

There is no perfect balance between family, work and the gym, only a shifting blend that changes with seasons, routines, and energy. When we expect ourselves to meet every need at the same level, the pressure becomes louder than the progress. It helps to accept that some days family comes first, some days work demands more, and some days movement becomes the anchor that steadies everything.

Holding Space for Yourself Without Guilt

Guilt is the heaviest weight many women carry. Taking an hour for the gym or even ten quiet minutes before the house wakes up is not selfish, it is self-support. Movement can be a way back to yourself, a moment where the noise softens. Wearing something comfortable makes it easier to show up, and STRYDE pieces have become the gentle reminder that your wellbeing deserves a place in the day too.

Creating a Rhythm That Feels Realistic

Balance grows through realistic expectations, not rigid schedules. Sometimes it helps to build tiny rituals, like preparing gym clothes the night before or choosing shorter workouts on busier days. Other times it is simply choosing presence, whether that is during a family dinner, a work task, or a quiet lifting session. When you honour where you are, you naturally step into a softer, more grounded routine.

Comfort can be a form of support, especially on the days when you feel stretched thin. That is why I lean into STRYDE’s comfort first fabrics when I train or even when I move through long work days. When your clothes feel good, the transition between roles becomes calmer, almost seamless.

Balance is not something you finally achieve, it is something you practice. Some days you’ll feel steady, other days you’ll feel scattered, but you are always allowed to begin again. When you give yourself permission to move with intention instead of pressure, you build a life that feels aligned with your strength, your softness, and every version of you in between.
